Policy for Computer and Internet Usage
All employees, using computers and the internet through the company's network, must adhere to the regulations by considering the suitability of the data resources. Any employee, violating the regulations, must be disciplined and may be unemployed.
In addition, any inappropriate use, leading to a violation of the law, the Company will proceed in line with the law. Therefore, all employees shall comply strictly with the guidelines specified in the regulations of computers and internet usage.
Guidelines
1. Computer, Internet and E-mail Usage
- Computers and Internet access shall be used for the purposes of Company’s activities and legally only.
- E-mail writing shall be polite and official, shall not be rude, obscene or precarious.
- Reviewing the detail, text and documents of the E-mail and attachment, shall be done completely and accurately before sending to the receiver.
- Details, messages and attachments, sending via the company’s e-mail or the network infrastructure are the Company’s properties which are subject to monitor and control.
- The management or supervisors shall supervise and control the internet and e-mail usage of their responsible employees.
Inappropriate Use (Warning)
- Prohibit to disrupt, intimidate, threaten or interfere with other Internet users.
- Prohibit for recreational activities such as playing computer / online game, watching non-work-related video or other non-Thai NDT related activities including performing work for personal profit with Company resources.
- Prohibit to oppose or dismiss on security standards of the company’s network, the network of other connected systems, or any action to access the internet without permission.
- The Internet Users shall not interfere the network, except those who are authorized to manage the network.
- The Users shall not make or use illegal copies of copyrighted materials.
- Prohibit the company’s email user to apply any download services such as pictures, wallpapers or any transaction mail causing the damage of server system.
2. Software License and Computer Default Setting
- All software used on Thai NDT computers and equipment’s must be appropriately acquired and used according to the appropriate licensing.
- Possession or usage of illegally copied software is prohibited. Users shall not change software which has been installed and any default value setting on the computers without the participation of IT Support personnel or written authorization of the relevant Department Manager and IT personnel.
3. Security
- Users shall not reveal account password or allow another person to use their account. Similarly, users shall not use the account of another user.
- The users who identify or perceive an actual or suspected security problem shall immediately contact IT Support personnel for further solutions finding.
- Access to Company network resources shall be revoked for any user identified as a security risk or for those with a demonstrated history of security problems.
4. Maintenances
- IT Support personnel will check the computers, internet and E-mail as on the maintenance plans. Users are notified that all Thai NDT computers and networks will be monitored appropriately to ensure proper computer use and to protect against attacks.
5. Punishment
- All terms and conditions as stated in “Policy for Using Computer and Internet” reflects an agreement of all parties and shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Thailand. Any user violating this policy is subject to the loss of network privileges and any other Company disciplinary actions deemed appropriate.
- All management personnel and supervisors are responsible for implementing this policy in Thai NDT and ensuring that users are aware of their responsibilities.
- Users are notified that all Thai NDT computers and networks will be monitored appropriately to ensure proper computer use and to protect against attacks.
- Users who violate the provisions outlined in this policy are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. In addition, any inappropriate use that involves a criminal offense will result in legal action.
Therefore, all users are required to acknowledge receipt and understanding of guidelines contained in this policy and procedure for using computer and internet.
